QuestionWhat should I do if I lose or damage the book that I borrowed from the library?
Answer

It is recommended that you search for the book again carefully. If the book has not been reserved by others, you may also renew it before the due date, giving you more time to find the book. If you still can't find it, then you should go to the item location library to handle compensation. According to library policy, compensation should be made either by providing a copy of the same edition or a newer edition of the book, or by paying the replacement cost. You must complete the replacement procedure within 14 days of the due date; otherwise, you will be required to pay overdue fines in addition to the replacement cost.

Where can you handle compensation?

  • For the collections of the Main Campus, please go to the service counter on the 1st floor of the Main Library (02-33662353).
  • For the collections of the Koo Chen-Fu Memorial Library and the Law Library, please go to the Koo Chen-Fu Memorial Library (02-33668451).
  • For the collections of the Medical Library, please go to the Medical Library (02-23562207).

For detailed information, please refer to the webpage: Circulation Services > Replacement for Lost / Damaged Book, or contact the service counter on the 1st floor of the Main Library.
